Open Water #2

Being out on the water in my kayak is calming and helps centre my spirit. I always feel better for going out for a paddle and the feeling lingers and becomes inspiration for my paintings. In this painting Open Water #2, I was playing with changing colours between the highlight reflections in the water. I love the faded transitions and the effect in the sky. It has a sun bleached, sun blinded feel.

Open Water acrylic on 10 x 10 gallery wood frame. The 1.5 inch sides of the painting are natural wood. Hypnotic river reflections in a pleasing palette of colour.
