One Week Away!
Come out and enjoy the beautiful weather at the MAG Studio Tour. I'll be joining Fiona Macintyre and Vanda Stanley at Fiona's Silversmith Studio, 330 Main Street East in Merrickville. What you will find? Beautiful original jewellery designs by Fiona, handmade functional pottery by Vanda of Honeyfield studio and a variety of new original paintings by me. Water scenes, floral and fall landscapes painted in acrylic and oils. Hope to see you next weekend!
It was a great turn out for the Merrickville Arts Guild Studio Tour!
Thanks everyone who came out to the studio tour this year. It was good to make the switch from the usual solitary painting in my studio to meeting and speaking with so many people. Many paintings found their news homes and in my mind new ideas are being formed for future works in the coming months.
New! The Merrickville Artists Guild Studio Tour is coming fast
The annual MAG Studio Tour is just under a month away. I always want to have my latest work for the show. It's always fun to see the reactions people may have about what I'm working on at the time. I seem to want to go contemporary retro. I love the look of a sun faded scene and this idea has so much to explore. Simple pleasures and ideas related to summer have my attention. Whether it be fireflies, sun refections on the water, clouds threatening to bring a summer storm, I'm all in. Look for my new paintings on...
The Arts Festival is this weekend!
Come out and enjoy! I've been very busy getting ready for this event. I'll be displaying my original art for show and sale along side many other Merrickville Arts Guild Artists. We can't wait to see you.
Head in the Clouds
art Canadian landscape Ontario painting
I can't help it. Lately my head has been in the clouds. With the beautiful display over head who can resist. I've been painting clouds over farmer's fields, and the cloud refections I see in the water when I'm out in my kayak. Cloud gazing is one of life's simple pleasures. It along with a little daily daydreaming is a luxury we should try to indulge in, in my humble opinion. I find a little mental vacation helps make room for new ideas and increases focus when you want to get something done.
